I'm Angus Steak House / Guylian / Vivid Sydney 2010

A lovely night for a visit to Vivid Sydney 2010. The rain had stopped once we arrived at I'm Angus Steakhouse Darling Harbour for an early dinner (6.30pm) and we prayed that the weather will hold up all night for our exploration of Vivid Sydney.

JY5, my colleague and fellow foodie and photogapher, had kindly offered to organise this outing which started with dinner - Vivid - desserts and more Vivid for the 6 of us.

Garlic Bread w/ Parmesan Cheese ($4.50) - On a cold night, biting into one of this warm, cheesy garlic bread was heaven sent and a great start to the night.

I had ordered the Prime I'm Angus Sirloin 300g, 100 days grain fed, aged for 60 days from the Darling Downs Region, ($36.00) cooked medium rare w/chips and mushroom sauce (additional $5.50 for the sauce). The steak came with lightly fried kumara chips in place of the standard vegies or salad. The steak itself was tender and perfectly cooked.

H had ordered the Belgian Waffles w/ Guylian Chocolate Dip, served w/ Guylian Praline Ice Cream ($16.50) which was a huge disappointment. The waffles were too thin (ie. stingy on the batter) and dry.

I loved the Guylian Dark Chocolate Shake, chocolate ice cream w/ Guylian dark chocolate ($10.90). It had just the right amount of chocolate-y goodness without being too rich or too thin and came with an extra piece of chocolate too.

Oh, I'm not a fan of the guylian waffles either :( But, love a good steak and vivid is so pretty! :D

I saw some of Vivid on Saturday night but only along Macquarie Street. Might have to venture back out there to catch the Opera House before the end of it. The steaks sound really good!

vivid is so cool isn't it. sydney has so much outdoor culture now it's hard to keep up with it all. i haven't tried i'm angus but looks pretty good although quite pricey. i'm usually quite happy with a $10 steak meal from a pub these days to get my protein :-)

Isn't Vivid great! I remember seeing the ship burning last year and that was rather amazing. Nice idea for a harbourside night cap too! :)

Nice shot of the Opera House! I checked it out last night, but kept missing the pretty purple colours!

Shame about the waffles at Guylian.
